Been using PBW a while now and as it is in the region of 10x the price of other oxygen based cleaners I wondered how long it would last in solution. I googled around and found this thread.
In this thread there is an email to Five Star Chemicals asking the same question. They also give details on the specific doses. As is usual with most beer brewing threads I converted the US sudo imperial to metric and came up with the following:
Prepared PBW is at its best in the first 24 hours, after that the oxygenation will start to leave the product. Can still be used up to 24-48 hours but will have lost about 50% of the effectiveness.
One 25ml scoop = 26g : 4 to 7 litres of water
Water temperature : 49C - 71C : Hot water tap is 49C max.
Soak time is 30 mins
END
Thinking that if the solution is good for 24 hours, it could be brought up to temp by using it as a cooling liquid through the plate chiller. An obvious time for this is when cooling wort post boil. This could be a good time for bottle cleaning.
